Her Pune-based husband, P Anandan, said he was on a phone call with her at around 12 noon on Saturday, when a missile struck. After the phone conversation was abruptly cut short by a deafening explosion, Sheeja’s husband was unable to reconnect with her. He reached out to her friends in the vicinity, who told him about the shelling and later visited Sheeja’s location after it stopped.
