Brent, the global benchmark for two thirds of the world's oil, was 0.17 per cent higher, trading at $121.8 a barrel at 7.29am on Thursday, while West Texas Intermediate, the gauge that tracks US crude, was down 0.41 per cent at $114.5 a barrel. This comes at a time of significant tightness in the market and could contribute to further increases in the price in the coming weeks," said Craig Erlam, a senior market analyst at Oanda.
