'Shameful': Dulquer Salmaan, Richa Chadha slam attack on Spanish couple

A Spanish biker couple en route to Nepal was attacked in Jharkhand on March 1. Actors Richa Chadha, Dulquer Salmaan have reacted to the news. The woman was also gangraped in the state's Dumka district.

Richa Chadha reacted to the news and said it is a 'shame on our rotten society'. She further wrote, "Shameful! Indians are treating foreigners like they treat their own women. Shame on our rotten society

Dulquer Salman shared the news on his Instagram handle and expressed his concern. He wrote, "Crushed to hear about this! You both recently visited Kottayam where close friends hosted you for a meal. This should not happen to anyone anywhere 

The incident occurred late Friday night in the Hansdiha area of Dumka district in Jharkhand when the couple halted at a deserted place to spend the night in a makeshift tent.

As previously reported by IndiaToday.in, the couple was assaulted by the men who later gangraped the woman.

Following the events, the police have arrested three accused and launched a manhunt to catch the remaining, reported PTI. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been formed to probe the incident.
