Archana Puran Singh Says She Went 10 Years Without Film Offers After Bol Bachchan

Veteran actor Archana Puran Singh has opened up about the challenges she has faced in her film career, revealing that she did not receive a single movie offer for nearly a decade after her performance in Bol Bachchan.

In a recent interview, the actor said that although her work in films such as Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Toaster was appreciated, meaningful acting opportunities have remained limited. She added that while she continues to receive brand endorsement offers, substantial film roles are still hard to come by.

Archana said she is eager to return to acting in significant roles and hopes filmmakers will consider her for more performance-oriented projects. According to her, the entertainment industry often works in unpredictable ways, making it difficult to understand why certain actors are overlooked.

Recalling the release of Bol Bachchan, she said several trade experts had predicted she would soon receive numerous film offers after the movie's success. However, despite those expectations, she did not receive any acting offers for the next ten years.

The actor believes one reason may have been her long association with television. As a regular face on comedy shows, many filmmakers reportedly assumed she would not have the time to commit to film schedules. She also admitted that during her television commitments, she had to decline a few projects because she could not accommodate extended shooting schedules.

Archana has built a successful career spanning more than four decades, appearing in memorable supporting roles in films including Agneepath, Raja Hindustani, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein, Bol Bachchan, and Housefull 4. She later became one of Indian television's most recognizable personalities through comedy shows such as Comedy Circus, The Kapil Sharma Show, and The Great Indian Kapil Show.

Apart from television, she has also gained a large online following through her family vlogs and social media content.

Archana will next be seen in Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya, directed by Himank Gaur. The upcoming series features Kay Kay Menon, Naveen Kasturia, Deven Bhojani, and Abhimanyu Singh, and is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on July 24.
